Auditor General releases annual follow-up report
WINNIPEG – Manitoba Auditor General Tyson Shtykalo today released his report, Follow Up of Previously Issued Recommendations. This year’s follow-up report includes the implementation status of 236 recommendations.
As at September 30, 2024, 68 of the 236 recommendations (or 29%) have been implemented. Of the remaining recommendations, management reported:
· 130 (55%) were in progress.
· 21 (9%) will not be implemented.
· 17 (7%) no longer require action.
The Auditor General typically follows up on the status of recommendations for the first time two years after a report is released. The need for subsequent follow ups, and the timing of these follow ups, is determined by the Auditor General on a case-by-case basis.
“I encourage departments and entities to continue working towards implementing all outstanding recommendations,” Shtykalo said.
